Traveling in Bali is not complete until you get some thing that will remain you on this tiny little island, yes… shopping. Shopping in Bali is fantastic especially you come with US $ with you, shop till drop in Bali…babe, since US $ exchange to Rp is consider HIGH. Shopping in Bali also sometimes annoying specially when you dealing with street vendor whose keep offering things from chess, post card, pencils, boxs and more even though you keep saying ” No Thank You” , they seem don’t take that answer . So, how do you “handle this situation”? but please keep in mind The street vendors are just the Balinese people who work to earn a living. They don’t have stall, or capital to start their own business. The easiest thing to take part in tourism industry is to become street vendors or “pedagang acung”. They just need merchandise to sell, and off they go.

Here are some tips to say no to street vendor nicely :

Try this Indonesian expression of saying “No, thank you”, by saying “Tidak” or “Tidak, Terima Kasih.” (Pronounced “tee dhuk, tree ma ka sih”). The Idea, Why is Indonesian expression more effective? If you speak Indonesian, they will think you already lived or stayed long in Bali or Indonesia and souvenir is the last thing you need. And if you want to buy things, you will go to proper shop at another time. OR

There is fun when buying from street vendors. You will get good deal sometimes if you want to buy T-shirt or sarong, just use your bargaining skill. And most important thing, it helps the local people if you buy from them.

Hopefully this tips works, Good Luck !!

A long java?s wild southern shores you will find straight, long, often close out beaches with only a few reef breaks which may be good on their day, but nothing approaching Grajagan?s perfection until you get to West Java.

Off the west coast is Panaitan island with Indonesia?s most exotic yet dangerous left reef break known as One Palm Oil. Ridiculously shallow, so wear all the rubber and helmets you can afford. Charter boats and national park permits must be organized at Labuhan. Some horrendous experiences have been endured here with un seaworthy boats breaking down, so you would definitely be safer with the reliable Surf Travel Company yacht ?Just Dreaming?. If you decide to chance a local boat, take an extra weeks emergency food and water, just in case. Panaitan Rights are excellent, but just as dangerous as the left and easily blown out. Panaitan?s shallow breaks are definitely for experts only! You can visit the island remains of Gunung Krakatau, the sit of the largest volcanic explosion in recorded history. The tsunami waves created in 1883 were 120 feet high. Over 36,000 people died and 165 village were destroyed. Eruptions still occur every year, so be warned! Great sunsets, from a distance. A right hander too, on the edge of the volcano, if you?re brave? The mainland Ujung Kulon National Park has good surf potential, but is accessibly only by boat. You must obtain a permit in Labuhan before you go. On land beware of wild boar, rhinoceros, tigers, giant python snake and malaria.

Four hours south of Jakarta is Pelabuhan Ratu which has good surf nearby. From Bali, first class trains are worth the price-faster and much safer than a jostling overland bus trip. Go to Sukabumi station and than take a minibus to Cimaja or Genteng.

Ombak Tujuh is the best known break, a thick left hand peak, not unlike a reverse Sunset beach. It gets very big, very often, so bring you gun! It is deep within the Ujung Genteng National Park, accessible by boat from the losmens at Cimaja (a good right) or by motorbike from the losmens at Genteng (a good left). There are other reef breaks and points, both left and rights, nearby. You could try the uncrowded breaks west of Pelabuhan Ratu, from Cisolok to Bayah. During the wet seasoncheck out Batu Karas, 250Km east of Pelabuhan Ratu near Pangandaran. Free lines Surf Adventures runs a highly recommended 2 week tour here, surfing some excellent secret spots.

There is a phantom shark that is said to cruise the break often. You need as little winds as possible, and a high tide to stop you drifting off the take of spot. Right hand peaks shift around a bit, but if you?re in the right place at the right time, it can be a ride to remember. Doesn?t seem to get too crowded, unlike its neighbour Sanur.

The most consistent left reef break in Bali. Rarely is it under 4 foot, but also rarely is it un crowded. Crowds have increased now that you can drive from Padang-padang beach along the new road right the cliff top over looking the surf. Warung?s offer food, drinks, shade and great views of the action in the surf. At high tide you surf the section known is The Peak, directly out from The Cave, with classic tubes right from the jacking take off. Unfortunately one in three tubes tends to close down unpredictably, so be prepared to duck out through the back of the wave. Over 10 feet on lunar high tides can be quite dangerous trying to get back in trough the cave, the only exit. Prone out immediately after take off and head for the beach up current from the cave, to avoid being swept past and having to paddle back out and around the break again to try getting back to the cave entrance. Low tide at Uluwatu causes The Peak the close out, so you surf 100 meters further down the reef at The Racetrack. A series of long walled section link together with fairly predictable open tubes that lure you ever onward into the next curving bowl but don?t go too far, because like most Bali reef breaks, it eventually closes out savagely onto almost dry coral that is very sharp wear your reef boots at low tide! The wave often gets bigger the further you go down the line. Over 10 feet at low tide, Racetrack moves further out and becomes outside corner, a thick pushy wall that rolls evenly for well over 100 meters. There are rarely tubes, but the faces are ideal for big carving maneuvers. Sometimes it is safer to get out of the water by paddling down to Padang, 2Km north. Temples is the line up furthest south, way out the back. A good outside reef to avoid the crowds or find more juice on smaller days.
