SUMBA, FLORES, TIMOR, ROTI, IRIAN Island

14

April

These are the major islands further east with an incredible amount of un explored surf potential. The cultures here are very different to the rest of Indonesia, so learn as much as possible from a good general guide book such as Lonely Planet?s Indonesia Travel Survival Kit. Getting supplies of fresh food and clean water can be difficult in the poorer, more remote areas. Transport is slow and sporadic, so make sure you have plenty of time available. The waves is most islands east of Bali are possibly better early season, from around Marc to July, before the strong south-east trade winds kick in. Some breaks are even better in the wet season with north west offshore winds, but the weather can be very hot, stormy, wet and un comfortable.

Java Island “Grajagan The best left on this planet”

13

April

Java island is one of the most densely populated islands on earth, yet Grajagan nestles quietly in the depths of a thick jungle rainforest on java?s south-eastern tip, a unique freak of nature that is without doubt the home of the world?s most awe-inspiring left hand reef break. Access to Grajagan is strictly controlled by the National Park rangers, so you can only stay at either of the two camps with the necessary permits. Living in a bamboo tree house, challenging Grajagan?s very long, fast wall?s is the ultimate jungle adventure! If you want to see ?The Best Left on The Planet? ridden by the very best surfers, check out recent Quicksilver G-Land Pro videos.
