

This Museum is located in the village of Gilimanuk – Jemberana Regency. The museum was established in 1990, based on archaeological research by Mr. R.P Soejono. 200 years ago a museum was built intentionally, because it was discovered that about 2000 years ago, there lived a community from the metal period.

This Museum is located at the main street of Ubud in Gianyar – Central Bali. This museum was founded by Tjokorda Gede Agung Soekawati and Rudolf Bonnet. In 1956 it was officially opened by the former minister of Education & Culture, Mr. Mohammad Yamin. Nowdays, the museum is managed and operated by Tjokorda Gede Putra Soekawati, the son of the late founder. It is private museum, owned by the Ratna Wartha Foundation. The collection contains various paintings, statue and other artworks from Balinese artist. This Museum was the first and oldest one, that started collecting arts works from the 1800′s, 1930′s and from the end of the second world war onwards.
