The West Bali National Park is a nature conservation area which has the original ecosystem, managed by the zoning system and can be utilized for the purpose of research, science, education, culture, tourism and recreation.
The West Bali National Park is located at the western edge of the island of Bali, which expanses of green spaces along the highway linking Denpasar-Gilimanuk-Singaraja on 150 km, is located in Grokgak district, Buleleng regency and Melaya district, Jembrana Regency. The topography of West Bali National Park has a regular gradation between mountains, hills, valleys, bays and oceans. Potential of varied West Bali National Park area include potential for flora, fauna and marine life. The West Bali National Park is rich in potential flora there are 14 species of flora protected, among others; Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki), Sono Keling (Dalbergia latifolia), Bayur (Pterospermum diversifolium), and sandalwood (Santalum album). In terms of fauna include: Bali Starling bird (Leucopsar rothschildi), which is an endemic species of the island of Bali, is a rare and protected. Several mammals are found in West Bali National Park, such as; bull, deer and monkeys and also kind of reptiles etc.
Activities that can be done by visitors are jungle trekking, diving, snorkeling, camping, bird watching and research. West Bali National Park is good place for snorkeling on Menjangan Island where offer beautiful coral reefs surrounding. Menjangan Island is the best place for snorkeling, many visitor both local and foreign tourists want to dive for varieties of marine life, fish and coral reef exploration. The West Bali National Park has adequate facilities for recreational needs such as trekking, horseback riding, bird watching, lodge, observation tower, restaurant, and hotels.
