About Bali

Bali is beautiful Island that famous with thousands of temple. Bali is one of more than 18 thousands Island in Indonesia with a very strategic location, between two islands, Java and Lombok Island and two continentals, Asia and Australia. Bali has two seasons, there are wet and dry season.

That we know Bali call “The Island with thousands of temple“, because in Bali almost every day is a Ceremony, starting from small ceremony until big one. Big ceremony means; the ceremony is one that require and large number of participants (example; Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi, etc.), sometimes the whole village or Island. Then, small ceremony is one held by every single hindhu family on the Island. As we mention “small ceremony”, it means the ceremony that every single hindhu family has to celeberate.

Every house has a temple and the day that they have finished to build the temple in their house, they will celeberate a small ceremony call “Melaspas“. It will be going concern in every six months and they call it “Odalan“. So that why, Bali call “The Island of Gods

Bali local hero on the water is Oka Sulaksana. He started out on home made boards and borrowed equipment in his teens going to become an AsianbGames champion twice and a three time olympic competitor of windsurfing. As the son of a fisherman growing in Sanur, he joined his father at an early age spending his life on the water. Learning to surf whilst at primary school, his introduction to wind surfing came later on, competing from the age of 14 and winning the bali open 1985. After his first international competition in Singapore in 1987, Oka never looked back, the only break in his relentless pursuit of jumping the waves came after a collision with a jet ski in 1993, left him with serious head injuries. Despite this setback, he went on to compete in five South East Asian Games, three Asian Games and three olympic. What’s more of an accomplishment, are his succesfull result in the international arena, with little help from official sporting bodies He continues to work hard to support his family without the support of a select number of local businesses and individuals, oka would not be able to compete on the world stage.
