THE CROWDS
The object of this guide is to help spread out the crowds among the many already publicized breaks in
SECRET SPOTS
There are not many secret spots left in Bali, so out of respect for those hardy souls who discovered and keep them secret, this surfing guide will keep them secret too. If you get to share a secret spot with a friendly local, keep it a secret. Check out the Legian beach breaks first and then consult this guide for the possible surf conditions else where. Naturally I can?t guarantee the wind won?t swing side shore before you drive the 2 hours to Medewi for instance, or that the swell direction will suite the other side of the island. But hope fully this guide can help you make your own decisions on where you might get the best possible waves while perhaps avoiding the crowds. The secret to scoring the best possible surf in
The measurements used in this book are for wave face height, from the trough to the crest. 3 feet is waist high. 6 feet is head high. 12 feet is double overhead. (if you get lip launched over the falls at Uluwatu, and you fall 10 feet before hitting the water, you deserve to call it 10 foot!)
